Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.

#1 and #2 are the official theme songs of Café. Waiting. Love, a Taiwanese romance movie written by Giddens Ko and directed by Chin-Lin Chiang. Both songs express the central theme of the movie: everyone is waiting for someone.
HEBE TIEN - "Forever Love" (view count: 9, 400,000 +)
This song is a solo piece sung by Hebe Tien, a member of S.H.E., which expresses a modern attitude to love. Sometimes it hurts to love, and yet despite sacrifices and pain, we want to achieve a balance between loving someone and protecting ourselves. We still like to think that love is eternal.
Jolin Tsai – "PLAY" (view count: 7,770,000 +)
"Play" has been controversial since its release. The song is from Jolin Tsai, who is widely known as the Asian Dancing Queen. It has received attention because of a glimpse of (censored) nudity, and the choreography even caught the attention of Time magazine.
MAYDAY – "Onion" (view count: 5,500,000 +)
Written by MAYDAY's Ashin, "Onion" was originally performed by Aska Yang in 2008. MAYDAY, Taiwan’s leading rock band, celebrated their 15th anniversary in March this year and completed their “MAYDAY Now-Here World Tour” of 82 concerts in 44 cities. MAYDAY included this song, "Onion," in their album The Best of 1999-2013, which compiled of 30 greatest hits throughout their career.
