Free One-Day Workshop For Educators At Bowers On Terracotta Warriors (August 1, 2025)

From the museum that brought you the U.S. premiere of China’s Terracotta Warriors in 2008, Bowers proudly presents World of the Terracotta Warriors: New Archaeological Discoveries in Shaanxi in the 21st Century—featuring groundbreaking finds from one of China’s most historically rich regions.

Explore China’s captivating early history through recent archaeological discoveries from Shaanxi Province, a cradle of ancient Chinese civilization. Journey from Shimao (ca. 2300 BCE), one of China’s earliest walled cities, through key Shang and Zhou sites, culminating in the iconic Terracotta Warriors commissioned by the Qin emperor and completed after his death in 210 BCE.

This in-person experience is designed especially for educators. The program highlights key themes, classroom connections, and strategies for integrating this content into world history, art, and social studies curricula. Participants will gain ready-to-use resources for engaging students in inquiry-based learning, material culture analysis, and global historical thinking.

Whether introducing students to early Chinese history or deepening their understanding of ancient civilizations, this exhibition offers rich, standards-aligned content to bring your lessons to life.

Perfect for teachers, curriculum designers, and lifelong learners—come explore the evolving story behind China’s First Emperor and bring that story back into your classroom.
