Mary Gu Shuhang

Chief Executive Officer, CAA China

Mary Gu Shuhang is a veteran senior executive in the fields of culture and entertainment, sports events, public welfare, and charity.

Ms. Gu has been the CEO of CAA China since 2017. Creative Artists Agency (CAA), founded in 1975, is a world-class entertainment and sports agency headquartered in Los Angeles with offices all over the world. The agency represents leading professionals in film, television, music, theatre, games, sports, and digital content, and provides a range of strategic marketing and consulting services to corporate clients. Since taking office, Ms. Gu has set up a first-class team that fully understands the local China market, continuously expanded the agency’s business areas, and made comprehensive efforts in film, TV, music, sports, brand cooperation, social media operations, and other sectors. Ms. Gu and her team have achieved breakthrough results and successfully transformed CAA China into a leading entertainment and sports full-service agency in the market. 

Before CAA, Ms. Gu was at Special Olympics, Inc. as the Regional President and Managing Director of East Asia. For the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, she served as the Vice President of the Executive Committee, Director of Public Relations, and Deputy Director of large-scale events for the steering committee. She managed the Games’ fundraising campaigns and produced the Opening Ceremony, which, for the first time in Special Olympics history, was broadcast live on five channels on China Central Television and various international TV networks. In addition to various roles at the Special Olympics, Ms. Gu was President of the Shanghai Corporate Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. She was also a co-founder of China’s premier track and field event, the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix, and previously served in senior capacities for luxury hotel brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Shangri-La. Ms. Gu currently serves as a Board Member of Special Olympics International.
