Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang's Remarks on China-related Content in U.S.'s Relevant Report July 14, 2010

Q: The U.S. State Department recently released Advancing Freedom and Democracy Reports 2010 which criticizes China's democracy and human rights situation. How do you comment?

A: The Chinese Government guarantees citizens' basic rights and freedom in accordance with law, adheres to the principle of "people first and governance for the people" with remarkable achievements witnessed by all. The U.S. relevant report disregards the facts and makes groundless accusation against China's human rights, freedom and democracy, which is firmly opposed by China. We urge the U.S. to pay more attention to its own problems and stop interfering in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights.
