US-China Relations: Can Conflict Be Avoided?

Amid China’s rising assertiveness in Asia and growing presence elsewhere, it has been said that we need to be as concerned about China’s weakness as we are about its strength. To explore rise, the potential for conflict, and US policy responses, we feature Dr. Jacqueline Deal.  For the last decade, she has worked with the Office of the Secretary of Defense/Net Assessment on projects related to East Asia. Recent studies include an analysis of the security implications of alternative Chinese futures, an assessment of China’s capacity for technological innovation, and an exploration of China’s energy security strategy. She has been published in the New York Times, The National Interest, and the Weekly Standard.

Reservations are required. RSVP: events@fpri.org
