Stomping Grounds: A Multimedia Celebration of Asian American Identity

Stomping Grounds is a culminating multimedia event, aimed to celebrate and honor the complexities of Asian American communities from the 60s/70s and now. Through projections, posters («Uprooted: Rights to the City»), and photography («Becoming»), each component aims to break the narrative of Chinatown as a conservative and rigid ethnic enclave. Rather, as a setting and atmosphere, it represents the diverse interests and social innovation to define and reclaim Asian American identity. The energetic Chinatown of the Asian American Movement never left, but rather, continues to transform through peoples and policies.
