About An Eternal Lamb

The movie is adapted from Eternal Lamb, a collection of short stories by a Kazakh author. Like all herdsmen, Hali lived the nomadic lifestyle when he was young. Through his eyes, we see his Uncle Kaysteyr meeting Ukubara, the rich neighbor’s daughter, and falling in love with her, and we see on the day of their wedding Ukubara running away with another man. Five years pass, and Ukubara returns to Kaysteyr. Shortly afterwards, Ukubara tells Hali that she is determined to go back to her children and ask for their forgiveness.

Gao Feng is the vice president of CCTV, CEO of the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Group, and part-time professor at the Communication University of China. As a director, he has made a series of documentaries, including Liberation, Victory and Chuang Jianghu. The Refugees of Jiangzhaohe and Danny's Diary are representative of his single large documentaries. These works have won many  international and domestic awards, including the Huabiao Awards and Golden Rooster Award.
