Image

Amy Tan is one of the most prominent Chinese American authors, best known for such novels as The Joy Luck Club. In her latest book, The Valley of Amazement, she finds inspiration from her family's history, especially from early 1900's-era Shanghai. She will be joined by Orville Schell, Arthur Ross Director of the Center on U.S.-China Relations, to discuss the reconstruction of memory and family stories for fiction writing. Book sales and signing to follow discussion.
