Process Driven or Process Challenged? ASEAN and East Asian Regionalism

Alice D. Ba, PhD (University of Virginia, 2000) joined the Department in 2000. She specializes in the international relations, politics, and regionalisms of Southeast and East Asia. Professor Ba's current and recent research focuses on Southeast Asia and its relations with China and the United States in East Asia, East and Southeast Asian regionalisms, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the comparative conditions and processes of engagement. She teaches courses on Southeast Asian politics and world relations, Chinese politics and foreign policy, as well as international relations and international relations theory. Professor Ba currently serves as Director of the Asian Studies Program.
