Political Development in China: The Role of Civil Society

Time: 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

There are many question marks around the development of China, and both domestic and overseas scholars are now eager to find some kind of theoretical framework to explain it.  Chu Songyan, professor of political science at the China National School of Administration and a great researcher at the Center for Civil Society Studies at Peking University, will share her ongoing research on the political and economic model evolving in China, particularly the role of modern civil society in relation to Chinese government and politics.  Dr. Chu is currently a visiting fellow at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and is also spending this academic year as the Asia Programs Research Fellow at the Ash Institute of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

No RSVP necessary.
