The city of Shanghai’s think tank, the Shanghai Development Research Center, combined with the USC Price School of Public Policy and the USC U.S.-China Institute to discuss two of the most pressing issues facing people in both China and the United States. Housing quality and affordability are major considerations and major health care reform efforts are underway in both countries in an effort to control costs and achieve universal coverage. The leaders of the three units spoke, along with researchers from both SDRC and USC. A number of city officials and USC Price School alumni attended and raised questions.
