Making History Personal: A Lecture & Demonstration With Artistic Director Lenora Lee

Image

Lenora Leeʼs interdisciplinary work “Reflections” integrates historical research, personal narrative, and in-the-moment performative artistic processes utilizing dance, video projection, martial arts, and Chinese lion dance. It is inspired by stories of three generations of men in the Lee family and their peers as they realized their identity and communities as Chinese Americans. “Reflections”
transforms perception into a process that is at once provocative and affecting. Lee will share insight into motivations and artistic craft embedded in this new work through commentary, video, and live performance.

“Reflections” - by Lenora Lee Dance in collaboration with Kei Lun Martial Arts & Enshin Karate, South San Francisco Dojo, featuring media design by Olivia Ting, music by Francis Wong, text by Genny Lim, and videography by Ben Estabrook. www.LenoraLeeDance.com
