Leadership Change in China: Its Effects in East Asia and Relations with the U.S.

Christopher K. Johnson, Senior Adviser and Freeman Chair in China Studies, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

Mr. Christopher Johnson, current senior adviser and Freeman Chair in China Studies in the Center for Strategic and International Studies as well as a former senior China analyst in the Central Intelligence Agency, will be coming to George Washington University to speak on China-US relations now that the new leadership of the Chinese Communist Party has been announced. He will analyze post-18th Party Congress China and the changes that will affect the United States and other nations in East Asia, such as China's relations with North Korea, Japan, and Korea. The speaking event and the question and answer session will be moderated by Professor Edward McCord, the Director of the Sigur Center for Asian Studies.
