Zhu Qi, a scholar and writer, resides in the United States. He received his PhD in Chinese Literature from Peking University in 1990. After coming to the United States, he taught for several years in the Department of East Asian Languages & Literatures at the University of California, Berkeley before moving on to teach for over a decade in the Department of Asian Languages & Culture at Stanford University. He currently works as an independent scholar, researching, writing about, and disseminating Chinese history and culture.
Zhu Qi is renowned for his lectures on Chinese culture, having earned a reputation for being one of the “must-see sights of the Silicon Valley.” His prose essays on Chinese culture have received extensive critical acclaim. His published collections include: Children of the Yellow River; Children of the East; Reading Ten-Thousand Roads; Looking East, Looking West; and Ten Years in a Laugh.
The lecture will be in Chinese with no translation.
