John Zhao, Chairman, Hony Capital
赵令欢 is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Hony Capital, a leading private equity firm in China. Mr. Zhao also serves as Executive Vice President of Hony’s sponsor firm, Legend Holdings Corporation, one of China’s best known companies and the parent of Lenovo Group (HK.0992).
Under Mr. Zhao’s leadership, Hony Capital currently manages over USD 7.0 billion of assets and has invested in more than 80 companies domestically and abroad.
Prior to launching Hony Capital, Mr. Zhao held a number of senior management positions in US companies. He was Managing Partner at eGarden Ventures, Chairman and CEO of Infolio Inc. and Vadem Inc., VP and GM at US Robotics Inc. (NASDAQ: USRX) and R&D Director at Shure Brothers, Inc.. Mr. Zhao also serves on the boards of several Hony’s portfolio companies and other prestigious companies including Lenovo, Zoomlion, Chengtou Holdings, Jin Jiang International Hotels, etc.
Mr. Zhao holds an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, dual master’s degrees in electric engineering and physics from Northern Illinois University, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Nanjing University.
Li Ruigang, Chairman, China Media Capital
黎瑞刚 is the Founding Chairman of CMC Capital Partners and CMC Holdings Limited, which are China’s most prestigious investment and operation platforms with an extensive portfolio of champions and emerging leaders in media and entertainment, internet and mobile, and lifestyle across the entire spectrum of content, service and platform. Key sub-sectors in CMC’s portfolio scope include film, TV, animation, sports, music, live performance, location based entertainment, online game, financial media, financial data service, advertising, talent agency, ticketing, e-commerce, home shopping, education, social network, and smart TV. Li successfully transformed Shanghai Media Group into the media conglomerate with the highest market cap in China from a provincial broadcaster over his tenures as its chairman and CEO. Li is a Non-Executive Director of WPP (LSE: WPP, NASDAQ: WPPGY). He was Deputy Secretary General, and Chief of Staff of Shanghai Municipal Government.
Robert Simonds, Chairman, STX Entertainment
Robert Simonds is one of Hollywood’s most prolific and profitable film producers and entrepreneurs, responsible for 30 major studio titles that have generated more than $6 billion in worldwide revenue.
For more than two decades, Mr. Simonds has honed an approach to filmmaking that is based on tailoring projects to globally branded movie stars. He founded STX Entertainment on the principle that talent-driven, mid-budget motion pictures present the greatest opportunity in the current motion picture marketplace.
Mr. Simonds graduated summa cum laude from Yale University.
