Conference

Higher Education in China

Organized by William Kirby

The purpose of these sessions is to place the development of higher education in contemporary China in broader historical and comparative perspectives. The revolution in mass education that China is experiencing involves commitments led by the Chinese state both to mass and elite higher education. The goal is to build a number of world-class universities. Aspects of this critical development will be thoroughly explored by scholars invited from throughout the world.
