The Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has the potential not only to redefine the role that Beijing plays in development assistance, but also in shaping the organizational structure and governance of international financial institutions at large in the future. Whether the AIIB could change the broader economic and political orders in the Asia-Pacific will be discussed, from the perspectives of the United States, Japan, and India as well as China.
