The Harvest Moon Festival is a time to give thanks for the autumn harvest and to celebrate family. Hoiliday celebrations include the gathering of families, consumption of moon cakes, lighting of brightly coloren lanterns, and enjoyment of a full bright moon. Not exclusively a Chinese event, this festival is also celebrated by Vietnamese, Koreans and Filipinos.
