Following up on their acclaimed U.S. tour this past fall, the Tuvan ensemble Alash returns to Towson University to screen the 1999 documentary Genghis Blues which follows San Francisco bluesman and composer Paul Peña’s musical pilgrimage to the land of Tuva to compete in a national throat singing competition. Alash manager/interpreter Sean Quirk will introduce the film, followed by a Q&A and a brief performance by the group with guest Shodekeh and preview of the new documentary "Shu-De!"
