Forget Sorrow: An Ancestral Tale

Image

Belle Yang has spent two decades seeking justice, through her writing and illustration that profile immigrants, people who have been devastated by World War II, those who have lived under communism and her own Chinese heritage.  Her adult nonfiction memoirs and her latest book, a debut of graphic form, Forget Sorrow: An Ancestral Tale, gives voice to the men and women who disappeared in the chaos of war and communism without a murmur.  Her children books set in Asia and America are largely autobiographical, especially the story of Hannah Is My Name, is based on her first years living in San Francisco.
