Dragon and Pheonix: Worship and Yin-Yang in Prehistoric Mythology

Image

Speaker: Chen Wangheng, Philosophy Department, Wuhan University

Both Long (dragon) and Feng (phoenix) are imaginary beings whose images vary at different times. After a long period of change, their forms as we know them today were shaped during the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). This talk will explore the origins of the Yin and Yang, and prehistoric Long and Feng worship.

In Chinese with translation.
