Rian Thum, Assistant Professor of History at Loyola University in New Orleans will speak at UW Madison. Xinjiang is home to one of Inner Asia's largest Muslim populations, the Turkic-speaking Uyghur people. This two-lecture series will focus on aspects of Uyghur everyday life, and offer insights on Uyghur traditions and Islamic diversity.
