Hou Hanru, Curator and Critic, San Francisco Art Institute
Jane DeBevoise, Chair, Board of Trustees of Asia Art Archives
Ou Ning, Multimedia Artist
This three-way conversation features internationally noted curator and critic Hou Hanru, director of exhibitions and public programs at the San Francisco Art Institute; art historian Jane DeBevoise, chair of the Board of Trustees of Asia Art Archives, a Hong Kong–based nonprofit organization dedicated to documenting the recent history of visual art from China; and leading Chinese multimedia artist Ou Ning. Among the topics of discussion will be new media and transdisciplinary collaboration; the social role of the artist at a time of market dominance; and creating “memory” through documentation.
