Professor Robert (Bob) Gregory is undoubtedly one of Australia's pre-eminent economists. He has earned an international reputation for his significant contributions to the development of theory and empirical methodology in a variety of fields of economics. At the same time, in the past 20 years he has been the most influential academic economist in public policy-making in Australia, and has led what during his time as Head of Department has become one of the top Economics Departments in the country.
