Tsai Ing-wen, Chair, Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan

Tsai Ing-wen has previously served as Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan, as a Nationwide Legislator, and as a National Policy Advisor in the Office of the President under Chen Shui-bian. She has also served in
various other positions in the Executive Yuan including as Chairperson of the Mainland Affairs Council and Commissioner of the Fair Trade Commission. Prior to her appointment to the Executive Yuan, Dr. Tsai served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and as a Professor at National Chengchi University and Soochow University. She received her Ph.D. in Law from the London School of Economics.
