The Accidental Sociologist recounts Min Zhou's journey of critically examining the ever-changing experience of Chinese/Asian Americans. Zhou will discuss how contemporary patterns of Chinese immigration, settlement, and integration differ from those of the past and how Chinese Americans are positioned in 21st-century American society. Particular attention will be paid to the San Gabriel Valley.
Books will be available for purchase. The talk will be followed by a reception and a tour of the Chinese American Museum.
