For the third year in a row, Pacific Asia Museum invites the community to a pan-Asian celebration of Lunar New Year, a holiday celebrated by many cultures across Asia and the Pacific Islands.
Inside the parking lot which will be tented for the event, a stage will host performances including a lion dance and the renowned Xiao Hong Hua children’s dance group from Nanjing, China, as well as performances representing other Asian cultures. The event will also feature activities, crafts and food trucks throughout the museum and in the tented parking lot. Visiting artists will also demonstrate a variety of traditional art forms from China, including paper cutting, lantern making, sugar art, cloth art, Chinese knotting, and Suzhou silk art.
