Dr. Howell is Director of the Muscle Function Laboratory. She conducts basic research in cellular mechanisms underlying diaphragm dysfunction and the pathophysiology of exercise intolerance in congestive heart failure. She has been a Parker B. Francis fellow in pulmonary medicine.
