Reflecting on Beijing: USC Olympic Athletes and Coaches Discuss Experiences in China

USCI's online magazine US-China Today presents a panel discussion of USC Olympic athletes and coaches who competed for a variety of countries.

This past August, 11 current USC athletes and coaches traveled to Beijing for the biggest Olympic Games to date. While there, they had the opportunity to interact with the culture and see the sights, some ancient and some new, all carefully beautified for the influx of tourists. Some of these athletes and coaches will discuss their experiences in Beijing and share their impressions.

Nancy Chen is a current USC junior majoring in International Relations and is one of the managing editors of US-China Today. This summer, she was a production assistant for NBC Sports at the Olympics.

Tina Davis-Fernandes is USC's women's sprints assistant coach who has coached several All-American sprinters and NCAA champions. She helped coached women's track for Puerto Rico.

Ankur Poseria is a current USC junior majoring in International Relations with a focus on Chinese politics and language. He competed on India's Olympic team, swimming the 100m butterfly.

Carol Rodriguez ran the 200m and 400m for Puerto Rico. She is currently the USC record holder for these events, and graduated this past spring.
