Authors on Asia: Mongolian Folktales
The Pacific Asia Museum presents Hilary Roe Metternich.
The Republic of Mongolia lies on a high plateau between Russia and China. Its abundant wildlife, breathtaking and varied landscape and environment have led to a rich heritage of songs and tales related to nature. Author Hilary Roe Metternich has compiled 25 traditional folktales in this book, the most ancient of which dates to the 12th century, with vivid illustrations of intricately hand cut silhouettes by Mongolian artist Norovsambuugin Baatartsog.
Books available for purchase and signing.
