Hong Kong — the Pearl of the East

Hong Kong is the world's eleventh largest trading entity, and a major exporter of garments, timepieces, toys, games, electronics, and various light industrial products. Not only is Hong Kong a center of world trade, it is also the world's tenth largest exporter of services, providing specialized services to a wide variety of sectors. Thousands of international corporations have established their Asian headquarters or branch offices in Hong Kong, where they engage in various operations and commercial services.

According to the United Nations Development Program's 2006 Human Development Report, residents of Hong Kong have a life expectancy of 81.8 years, the second highest in the world. Hong Kong's health care system provides to all residents holding a Hong Kong Identity Card.

The Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China states that Hong Kong shall maintain a high degree of autonomy, with the exception of the areas of foreign relations and national defense, which are the responsibility of the Central Government. Hong Kong enjoys executive, legislative and independent judicial power, including that of final adjudication. The ten years since the transfer of sovereignty have demonstrated that the people of Hong Kong have taken control of their own destiny, and are fully capable of governing Hong Kong.

Food with feeling – floating restaurants

People in Hong Kong are connoisseurs of good food. They also attach great importance to the surroundings, ambience, and service of the restaurants in which it is enjoyed.

Romantic Outlying Islands

The Outlying Islands are a group of islands surrounding Hong Kong Island. Hong Kong has a total of approximately 200 islands of various sizes. The Outlying Islands are peaceful and romantic, each with a unique atmosphere, making them popular vacation spots for Hong Kong residents.
