"A Study of Transnational Entertainment Spheres in Chinese Cyberspace"
Jing Zhao is a master student in Media Studies at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She is interested in fan culture, media convergence, online queerness, and cross-cultural and transnational communication between China and the West. In particular, her research explores the potential of global entertainment information flow in democratizing Mainland China and empowering underprivileged groups oppressed by mainstream Chinese society.
