Introduction: 1st day review Taoism and Confucianism have played major roles in the development of Chinese civilization. Each has held a predominant position at some point in Chinese history and each has had its followers. This lesson is designed to re-view and consolidate the students learning about Chinese philosophic thought through a series of situations. Distribute Worksheet A, My Response to Confucians and Taoists Allow students time to read, react and write a response in each situation. Ask 3-4 students to share their answers to the class (volunteers). Discuss responses. Questions for Discussion: Now that we have looked at two major philosophies of China, which do you find most appealing for your needs or beliefs? What can todays society learn from this study of Chinese philosophy?
