Curriculum Project Lessons

Lesson 1 and 2 are to be used while teaching a unit of Medieval Japan in the 7th grade. Lesson 3, could be used to incorporate Korea in to the curriculum and have students compare its literature with Japan's literature.
I wanted to include a lesson on China, but keep falling into the trap of using lesson that were not original, and that is what I wanted to do, hopefully someone will find them useful. I have included teh rationale and documents together as a single file to make it easier for everyone.
Thanks,
Juana Evink

Juana-This is a well planned and thought out lesson. I wanted to focus on women's roles as well so this was very helpful. The summaries of the stories- are they for our benefit or is this what the students read? I like how you incorporate reading, writing, viewing, debate, and other types of engagement with your students.

Katherine- I think it's an excellent lesson to have students write poems/haikus and then illustrate them. Did you do the lesson? I also like that you incorporated descriptive writing into the lesson.

Wow. This is something that I would definitely like to attempt with my students. I really liked the well-thought out lesson that you created. The reading material was very interesting and the student worksheet (chart) is always helpful for students with special needs or ELLs. Nicely done.
