"Horse whispers fall on deaf ears"

I read with interest LA Times, January 9) about "Horse whispers fall on deaf ears"...an Amercian horse trainer hired by the racing officials in S Korea to improve the state of horse racing, now over a 7 billion dollar industry. (Ironically, horse racing was introduced to Korea by the Japanese during their occupation.) The trainer, Joseph Murphy, is facing many cultural obstacles but is not giving up. I am sure the play, Chinglish, addresses many of these issues.
To incorporate this into a middle - school classroom, students could research sports that either originated in and/or are played in Asia today. I am already rather curious about the outcome. Pat Lamkie
