626 Night Market

I had been wanting to go to this event after seeing reviews about it over the summer. I was reminded about the event after someone in class mentioned it the other night. I took my wife and two girls ages 4 and 6 to the event at around 4 pm. This time, the event was held at the Santa Anita race track. This provided an opportunity for my kids to watch the horse races as well as play on the playground. There was also a small fee where children could get unlimited access to the inflatable jumper and large inflatible slide. Since Halloween was around the corner, they also offered a small pumpkin patch maze made out of bales of hay. I had the opportunity to walk around and explore the free event. The only thing I had to pay for was parking. Various vendors were set up and selling trinkets, CD's and DVD's, backpacks, Hello Kitty items, cell phone accessories, sunglasses, and FOOD. There were Asian and non Asian food stand and food trucks. I had to have my fill of stinky tofu while my family "suffered" from the smell. This event is great in the evenings if you want to hang out and get some food. Other than that, there is not much to do, especially if you have a family with little ones.

I was able to attend the 626 Night in on 10/21 as well and, I must say, the sights and smells were memorable! I was able to convince my wife and extended family to also attend as a way to celebrate my Mom's birthday. My nieces and nephews were surprised by all of the different kinds of food and music that was available. I thought that the prices were a little high and that the selection was diverse, although also very fastfoodish. I had a great time, but my oh my...the stinky tofu was quite putrid. Overall, a good time.

I've heard about 626 night market I have not yet been able to attend. It certainly sounds like the market would provide an evening of entertainment. We would get to eat well and see what activities are available for the family.

I've heard about the 626 night markets several times and have been invited on many occasions yet surprisingly haven't had the interest to attend:/ Ive been to different food tours, cultural food events etc but never this one which its foods are Asian culture based? I will have to try going to a 626 night market soon!

Does the location of the market change each time? Also, are there set dates or do those change? Thanks for the review! I would love to attend the next one.
