The USC U.S. – China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA) are offering a complimentary five-day residential summer seminar at USC for educators. Participants will have the option of commuting to USC and receiving a $250 stipend, OR be housed (double-occupancy) at the USC Hotel (must live at least 30 miles away from USC). This complimentary online seminar explores many aspects of contemporary China. In addition to building a solid foundation of knowledge, the seminar discusses ways to effectively incorporate China into your curriculum. This course is open to teachers who live or work 30 miles from the University of Southern California.
 

East Asia Since 1800

September 15, 2018 to December 8, 2018

This complimentary seminar offers in-depth presentations on the history and culture of the region as well as aids K-12 educators incorporate these learnings into their curriculums. The course consists of three Monday evening sessions (5-8pm) and four Saturday sessions (9-3:30pm) at USC. On-campus parking and refreshments will be provided.
