Background
Dan Wei is a Research Assistant Professor at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. Her research focuses on modeling of economic impacts of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) mitigation policies, design of market-based GHG mitigation policy instruments, and economic impact analysis of business interruptions due to natural or man-made hazards. Her research has been published in journals such as The Energy Journal, Environment and Planning, International Regional Science Review, Climate Policy, and Energy Policy. Dr. Wei’s current projects include macroeconomic impact analysis of GHG mitigation policies of New York, capacity building of low-carbon development planning in provinces of China, and assessment of economic risks and benefits of U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Programs.

Dr. Wei worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in SPPD (now the USC Price School) from 2007 to 2010. She holds a B.E. degree in Engineering Physics and an MSc degree in Public Policy from Tsinghua University, and a Ph.D. in Geography from The Pennsylvania State University.
