Join us for a free one-day workshop for educators at the Japanese American National Museum, hosted by the USC U.S.-China Institute and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. This workshop will include a guided tour of the beloved exhibition Common Ground: The Heart of Community, slated to close permanently in January 2025. Following the tour, learn strategies for engaging students in the primary source artifacts, images, and documents found in JANM’s vast collection and discover classroom-ready resources to support teaching and learning about the Japanese American experience.

亚洲驯养“狗”的起源及其扩散方向的语言人类学分析厦门大学人类博物馆 邓晓华本文提供语言人类学的证据表明:1)世界范围的狗均来源于历史上的中国及其邻近地区。遗传学的研究成果是完全可信的。不同学科的研究可相互检测为证。2)狗的起源地至少应有三个:即亚洲藏缅语族地区和亚洲南亚语系地区以及亚洲壮侗语族地区。因此最少应有三个以上的建群者。这也是狗从灰狼树根分化出来的第一个分支层级。其驯化主人应是操古藏缅语的“羌戎北狄”系种群以及操古南亚语的百濮系种群以及操古壮侗语的百越民族集团。3)美洲印第安人土狗主要形式直接来源于亚洲藏缅语族地区。时间在12000-14000 年前。狗的进化谱系清晰且不断层,其扩散方向均显示以中国的西南部为中心。4)“狗”在中国境内的分布范围,体现“北犬南狗”格局。本文对有关现象将提供几种语言学理论的解释。
