Hosted by Maritime Forces Pacific (MARPAC), the MSC conference will include panels that focus on naval shipbuilding programmes, maritime energy flows, Iranian and South African naval developments, naval professionalization and staffing, regional submarine programmes, maritime domain awareness, naval operations in the War on Terror, and strategic maritime issues in the Arctic Ocean. In addition to the daily programme, we will welcome our guests aboard a Canadian patrol frigate for a day sail, and host conference events at some of Victoria’s most scenic and prestigious venues, including the Union Club, the Maritime Museum of British Columbia, and the Officers’ Wardroom at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt. All conference venues were chosen to exhibit Victoria’s credentials as one of the premier maritime communities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Please note that MSC 08 is an exclusive event hosted by MARPAC for selected guests by invitation only. If you have not yet received an official invitation, but are interested in participating in this year’s event, please contact baart.dr@forces.gc.ca.
